About Us

Center for education and community development (CECD) 

 

CECD is a Vietnamese non-profit, non-governmental organization established on 20th November 2011 and under Education Psychological Science Association of Vietnam. CECD is dedicated to working with disadvantaged groups and communities, assisting them to improve their quality of life and manage their resources sustainably.

CECD works in cooperation with national and international professional experts who have special working experience with famous government organizations and research institutes such as the National Academies on Agriculture, the Research Institute for Aquacultures and Public Health, and educational and art cultural sectors.

CECD is working closely with a global network of leading experts and professors in development fields such as sustainable livelihood development, aquaculture, agriculture, climate change, environment protection, and art culture preservation.

CECD’s experience and core operational areas include research and advocacy, capacity building and organization development, HIV/AIDS care and support, integrated community health development, community based tourism, art and culture development, climate change adaptation and mitigation, sustainable agriculture, aquaculture technology including field based crab cultivation, poverty alleviation through livelihood development, and capacity building for partner organizations. These include CBOs and vulnerable communities. CECD specializes in art culture links and exchange between countries and tribal groups.

CECD is a leading national organization for Health and Climate Change Group (CCHG), a member of the Steering Committee for the Vietnam Network of Civil Society Alliance (CSA), and Climate Change, (VNGO&CC), and also a Member of the Steering committee for CSA (Civil Society Alliance), and a member of VNGO-FLEGT network and Social Work Association in Viet Nam.

To spread awareness of and encourage the community to participate in the preservation and development of traditional arts.

To use art as a tool through which public education and social development goals can be achieved

Our activities

- Advocacy for Livelihood development; Climate Change adaptation, Community development
- Implementation of intervention projects/programs on Sustainable livelihood for Social vulnerable groups; Environment protection and hygiene application for flooding coastal areas; Climate Change resilience; Initiatives for inclusive primary Education for Ethnic Minority girls; Reproductive health for Adolescents in Urban areas of Ha Noi city; Promotion of value chain for farmers in the Red River Delta; Flower cultivation for sustainable livelihood in Hung Yen province; Aquaculture technology transfer to poor farmers in coastal areas of North - Central Viet Nam. Climate Change adaptation agriculture initiatives....... 
 - Delivery of contractual service on Research/surveys and consultation services for ABD, WB and other donor offices in  Viet Nam.
 - Providing capacity building services on Development and business for clients from NGOs and Institutions in national and international levels.
 - Hosting study tour and field based learning trips by tailor made agenda offers to international offices in Viet Nam and in the Asian areas by cooperation with International leading agencies/Academies/Universities.

 - Facilitation of technology transfer on aquaculture, sustainable agriculture and flower planting industry......
 - Facilitation of business linkage to potential markets in the Asia region.
