THE WORKSHOP FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF HOUSEHOLD BUSINESSES IN LONG HUNG TOWN, VAN GIANG DISTRICT, HUNG YEN PROVINCE.

 On 22 April 2016, the Center for Education and Community Development (CECD) conducted a successful training attended by over 100 Long Hung’s farmers at the Lai Oc Village’s Culture House aiming to promote several methods of sustainable development of household businesses in Vietnam and specifically in Long Hung. This training program is part of the workshop “The solution for sustainable development of household businesses”, created by CECD.

This seminar aimed to equip local farmers with the core knowledge about developing sustainable household business, optimize the current human resources and provide the scientific and technical progress to manufacturer so as to increase quantity and quality cultivated crops and breed In addition, representing CECD, Mrs. Pham Thi Hong –CECD’s Executive Director informed the farmers about successful examples from around the country, particularly from the Northern Vietnam. These examples motivated Long Hung’s farmers to believe in their  potential to escape poverty through various business activities relevant to areas where they live.

CECD’s training comprised of a number of useful activities such as: group discussion, compiling a list of the current business development requirements, defining farmers’ requests, prioritizing tasks, setting up a business development plan. Local farmers discussed investment and development issues related to establishing a fruit tree orchard, growing organic vegetables; breeding pigs and chicken and producing organic fertilizer.
 
Farmers selected the best business model that they would like to be trained in.
 
As a result of the training, CECD will endeavor to assist Long Hung’s farmers to gain knowledge  in developing an effective business model which will support them to learn on how to conduct a successful agricultural enterprise which will considerably improve their financial position, in a relatively short period of time.
Overall, the government agency and Long Hung’s farmers evaluated the workshop to be  useful and helpful and they requested further training in the not so distant future.
