The workshop for sustainable development of household business in Tan Thanh, Duong Kinh district, Hai Phong city
On June 9, 2016, Center for Education and Community Development (CECD) and Farmer Union of Tan Thanh ward, Duong Kinh district, Hai Phong city organized the workshop “Solutions on sustainable household economic development” for over 70 farmers.
In this workshop, Mrs. Pham Thi Hong – Executive Director of CECD expressed the pleasure and willing to support farmers to identify their demands nowadays. Based on that, CECD would give the best suitable supporting plans or solutions to the farmer which related to rice, fruits, vegetable and several new models of aquaculture or agriculture in household economic development.

Next, the CECD’s program officers shared to farmers about the concept of sustainable household business development, equipped the core knowledge for household economic development and optimized the human resource and also applied the modern technique in manufacturing in order to increase quantity and quality of plants, breeders. These things will lead the raise of income as well.

The training had conducted many activities such as: question and answer, direct discussion between CECD’s program officers and farmers, group working to list the business models which were operated in the ward area and also the risk and difficulty while they ran these models.

Moreover, the party’s committee secretary of Tan Thanh ward shared that: Tan Thanh was very strong in aquaculture development, especially to produce shrimps, breeding crabs and marketable size crabs. However, in recent days, farmers faced many difficulties of breeders and water treatment (the pollution water is the cause of death).

After analyzed the difficult conditions and investigated the farmer’s demands in next time, CECD received the result such as: almost farmers want to be supported from CECD for the technique of growing Horseradish tree (Drumstick tree/bel-oil tree); technique of rearing animals with high productivity (French bees, Dong Tao chicken, French goose, etc.) and also assist them to develop the model of aquaculture machine hiring.
